Chip 300 500 650 1000
Clay 0-4 Y N 9 Y Y 25 1.00 300 400

Poker chip These are some of, if not, the nicest chips that I was sent. They have a traditional look, feel, and sound to them. They have beautiful traditional colors with beautiful multi-colored edge spots. They have a bit of a 'worked in' look and feel to them, but not quite as much as the Sidepot Modern Clay.

These chips have beautiful multi-colored edge spots, Some chips have no spots, some chips have three spots and some chips have four spots. Some spots are single colored, some are bi-colored, and some are tri-colored. You'll certainly have no difficulty telling these chips apart!

The Nevada Jack labels could not be removed with a fingernail or knife. There is no chance of the label being punctured or torn. The clay hid scratches very well. These are tough chips.

Sample chip diameters were 39.03, 39.02, 39.03, 39.18, 38.99, 39.01, 39.05, and 38.96mm. Sample chip weights were 8.57, 8.64, 9.62, 8.88, 8.76, 9.22, 9.58, and 9.02 grams.

These chips have a similar look, sound, and feel to them as the 'Modern Clay' chips but seem slightly heavier and beefier. They have a good weight and balance to them. These chips should be at the top of any list.

Chip 300 500 650 1000
Cer 6 Y N 10 F Y 25 .59 200 300

Poker chip These are nice ceramic chips. Nice colors, not too bright, not too dull and nice edges, not too sharp. These chips are not manufactured by ChipCo but they do have the almost exact same feel, look, and sound. The only real difference that I noticed was a slightly rougher texture and deeper color depth. These chips do not scratch as easily as ChipCo's. There is also a very slight but pleasurable 'sandpaper' feeling to the chip compared to ChipCo's, the difference, however, is very slight.

The pimples found on the rolling edge of some ceramic chips seem almost non-existent on the NJ composites. You could still see an indentation leftover from the manufacturing process but there was no, or very little, of any type of protrusion.

These chips have nice edge spots for a ceramic chip. Some chips have three spots, others have four spots. The edges are semi multi-color in that they are one color and surrounded by two black stripes. The effect emphasizes the color of the edge spot. The edge of this chip seems a little 'marbleized'.

Sample chip diameters were 39.56, 39.56, 39.57, 39.47, 39.55, 39.55, and 39.48mm. Sample chip weights were 9.64, 9.93, 9.96, 9.87, 10.01, 10.00, and 9.71 grams.

Now a bit of bad news ... the graphics on the chip can be a bit blurry. It's something that your guests might not ever notice but the lack of detailed printing mars an otherwise excellent chip. The blurriness may be a result of the somewhat rougher texture of this chip. Even with the blurry graphics, these are still some of my favorite ceramic chips. The blurry graphics are kinda like the small pimples on the rolling edge of ceramic chips ... you might never notice it unless someone first points it out to you. These chips are a good deal for the money!

Chip 300 500 650 1000
Cer 3 Y N 9.5 F Y 500 .59 200 300

Poker chip These chips are very similar to the Nevada Jacks composites, which in turn, are similar to ChipCo chips. The texture of this chip is similar to the Nevada Jack composite chip reviewed above and is rougher than a ChipCo chip.

This chip has three sets of edge spots on the top and bottom facing and six sets of edge spots on the rolling edge. Like ChipCo chips, the edge spots on the rolling edge do not line up with the edge spots on the top and bottom facing of the chip. The edge spots are actually two stripes of two different colors. There are no edge ridges on this chip. These chips have the same two seams where the rolling edge meets the top and bottom facing. The seam is smaller and less noticeable than a ChipCo and appears to be more of a ridge or trench than a seam.

This chip is harder to scratch than a ChipCo. I had to dig down about twice as far as a ChipCo chip to expose the off-white under layer. The printing is not quite as blurred as it is on a NJ composite. Like the NJ composites, these chips have a very small pimple on the rolling edge, I could hardly feel it. There was no noticeable rectangular indentation as there is on Chipco chips.

Sample chip diameters were 39.50, 39.41, 39.55, 39.45, 39.47, 39.40, 39.58, and 39.52mm. Sample chip weights were 9.90, 9.70, 9.66, 9.73, 9.70, 9.86, 9.84, and 9.83 grams.

You can customize these Desert Sands chips and have your order shipped within two weeks! The cost is 95¢ per chip with a minimum order of 500 chips. This is, by far, the fastest delivery time of any poker chip supplier for high-quality customized poker chips.

These chips have a couple advantages over Chipco chips in that they are harder to scratch and have smaller pimples than a typical ChipCo chip. I find the graphics on these chips to be a little less blurry than on the Nevada Jack composite (skull) chips. The inlay is scalloped, giving the chip a bit of an old-time look. These are nice chips and the fast delivery of customized versions of this chip make this a very attractive poker chip choice.

Chip 300 500 650 1000
Clay 3 Y N 9 N Y 25
Poker chip These chips are being discontinued as of January 2006.

These chips are very similar to the Nevada Jacks. They have sharper edges and appear slightly more refined. They have a bit more of a 'horse head' look and feel to them. They look shinier and feel slicker than the Nevada Jack chips. The colors are also brighter.

These chips come in the correct colors and denominations and have beautiful multi-colored edge spots. These are very nice chips but not quite as nice as the standard Nevada Jack mold. They feel similar to an A mold chip from PokerChips.com ... good, but not great. They have a very traditional look and feel to them and I'd be more than happy to own these chips, but I'd rather have the Nevada Jack mold.

Sample chip diameters were 39.08, 39.11, 39.17, 39.08, 39.07, and 39.08mm. Sample chip weights were 8.93, 8.80, 9.25, 9.07, 9.24, and 8.57 grams.

The labels could not be removed with a fingernail or knife. There is no chance of the label being punctured or torn. The clay hid scratches very well. These are tough chips.
